Team Hegdal – Vol 5

Team Hegdal is a fantastic creative, communicative and virtuoso Norwegian jazz quartet, playing the music of Eirik Hegdal.

Hegdal is well known for his work with the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra (especially for the cooperation with saxophonist Joshua Redman). Team Hegdal is his compositional playground for the small band format.
«Vol 5» is the first quartet release since «Vol 1» (2010). «Vol 2-4» all had guest appearances, with eminent musicians such as Mattias Ståhl, Ola Kvernberg and Oscar Grönberg.
Hegdal has an exquisite melodic and harmonious flair combined with a sometimes absurd humor. The genre boundaries are wide open; a bit from the Messiaen, a bit from Duke Ellington, constantly looking at the jazz history.
